Messy Church is a church for families who find it hard to go to church on a Sunday. A typical session would include chilling, creating, celebrating and eating together.
It meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month in the church hall of St James’ Church, Kidbrooke Park Road, Blackheath, SE3 0DU. Entry is free.
The session would typically run along these lines:
3.30pm – welcome
4.00pm – messy crafts/fun
5.00pm – celebration
5.15pm – meal
The aims are:
- to help people have fun and be creative together
- to provide an opportunity for people of all ages to worship together
- to help people of all ages feel they belong in church
- to introduce Jesus through hospitality, friendship, stories and worship
